Les Châteaux Restaurant: Reviews & Ratings
We had the Curry Chicken with Rice - Baked in Portugese Style. Curry chicken rice was delicious, flavorful. Tasted very similar to Thai Green Curry. The dish was made with Battered Chicken pieces, onions, potatoes and Green peppers. Overall, great dish. Although, the place is a bit outdated, it was crowded even after 3PM. We also tried the Hong Kong style Milk Tea (make sure to add sugar as needed). As soon as we sat at the table, we were served Hot Tea. Good food and good portion at great price!!
Atmosphere: normal, acceptable, a bit tight between seatings Service:quick, friendly Food:ordered a daily special, very good fried noodle, soup, buns and hot drink included for $9.9 is a good deal. However, the afternoon tea French toast set isn't up to my expectation.
Small-ish restaurant with a lot of varieties of food from HK style to Malaysian and south East Asian and even Asian style seafood. The various south East Asian fried rice are our go-to. Portions are huge for the rice dishes.
Given the price $9.99 on Wed special, and their efforts , I would give them a 4-star as long line up and so busy here. HK Mike Tea is ok la.
Ordered the $168 HK set. The lobster in Maggi style was very fresh and tasty. Loved the steamed bass. I saw them get the fresh seafood and they brought to our table to see. The sweet and sour pork was crispy and good. They advised the vegetable in the menu was not in season and offered ton choy instead- it was made very well. I enjoyed this restaurant, surprised about the relatively low rating on Google, as it did not reflect my experience. I will definitely be back and try their other options.
Delicious dishes, especially for the value (11.99 a dish with generous portion sizes) — we ordered deep fried fish, scrambled eggs with shrimp, beef brisket curry (they didn’t have yellow curry but subbed red curry and it was still delicious!), hainanese chicken and two smoky beef noodle dishes! Most of the dishes came with soup, dessert (sweet taro soup dessert), and milk tea. The service was fast and the wait staff (a mix of mandarin and Cantonese speakers) were very kind! Would definitely come again!
Tasty and flavourful dishes, nothing extravagant but a good comfort food location. Portions are big and flavour isn’t sacrificed. Disappointed with a few menu selections, some of the specials have small portions for a less than optimal price. I would recommend trying Indonesian or Malaysian fried rice, also try the baked rice if you are feeling especially hungry! For Cantonese food lovers, the pineapple bun and butter here is also pretty good
Follow @bredgyeats for more food photos! When you manage to jam-pack such a heavy smoky flavour in each bite of perfectly soft thick rice noodles, you know it will fill your belly and the hole in your heart. I genuinely wanted to pick up the plate and shovel bites nonstop, as the eggy aromas perfume throughout your mouth and the bean sprouts and onions, provide a refreshing contrast in texture. The fresh, bouncy shrimp and chewy fish cakes also add another dimension of umami to each bite. However, the baked tomato porkchop rice doesn't let itself get overshadowed, with a fried rice base that has an equal amount of wok hei as the noodles, topped with a juicy, tender portion of fried porkchop which absorbs all of the sweet and tangy tomato sauce poured on top, finished with a generous sprinkling of cheese and baked for an indulgent, unforgetting bite that has literally everything to activate your dopamine receptors.
